Chief Master Sergeant David A. Salinas

Chief Master Sgt. David A. Salinas is the Superintendent, 190th Maintenance Operations Flight, Forbes Field Air National Guard Base, Kansas. He leads five sections in maintenance operations, ensuring the administration, analysis, training management of assigned personnel, and programs and resources meet the needs of the 190th Maintenance Group’s production effort. He is also the elected President of the 190th Air Refueling Wings Chiefs’ Council, a body of chief master sergeants dedicated in supporting the mission and Airmen of the Wing by ensuring readiness and innovation, a culture of professionalism and respect, and leadership development.

Chief Master Sgt. Salinas enlisted in the Kansas Air National Guard in 2001 and was assigned to the 190th Maintenance Squadron. He graduated from Basic Military Training in February 2002 and attended the Aerospace Propulsion Apprentice Course at Sheppard AFB, Texas, graduating in May 2002. He returned to serve as a Jet Engine Mechanic on the KC-135E Stratotanker and saw the conversion to R model aircraft. He later was selected to attend cross-training and became a Maintenance Analysis Specialist and was assigned to the 190th Maintenance Operations Flight, providing database management and decision support analysis to the 190th Maintenance Group. Prior to his current position, Chief Master Sgt. Salinas was the Maintenance Management Section Chief, 190th Maintenance Operations Flight, Forbes Field ANGB, Kansas.

Chief Master Sgt. Salinas took a career broadening opportunity in October 2019 to serve with the 190th Comptroller Flight on an occasional Active Guard and Reserve tour, where he contributed to the Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness Program for the Wing. He was also awarded a Department of Defense Financial Management Certification Level II while serving with the Comptroller Flight. He has deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and recently, Operation Spartan Shield, where he served as a Senior Enlisted Leader in the 379th Expeditionary Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Al Udeid AB, Qatar.
