Maj Angela Thompson is the Operations Officer for the 190th Logistics Readiness Squadron (LRS), Forbes Field, Topeka, Kansas. In this role Maj. Thompson oversees the diverse day-to-day operations within the squadron including Operations & Compliance, Materiel Management, Fuels Management, Vehicle Management, and Deployment & Distribution. Her duties help ensure complete logistics support to the 190th Air Refueling Wing’s (ARW) 12 assigned aircraft and 900+ personnel.
Maj. Thompson began her military career with the 190th Air Refueling Wing (ARW), Forbes Field Air Force Base (AFB), Kan., in January 2009. She attended USAF Basic Military Training, at Lackland AFB, Texas, graduating in July 2010 and then attended the Air Transportation Apprentice Course, Lackland AFB, Texas, graduating in April 2010. She returned to Forbes Field AFB and served as an Air Transportation Craftsman with the 190th Logistics Readiness Squadron. In June of 2017 Maj. Thompson commissioned from Total Force Officer Training School and returned to the 190th ARW to serve as the Installation Deployment Officer. Prior to her current position, Maj. Thompson was the Director of Inspections, 190th Air Refueling Wing.
During her career, Maj. Thompson has traveled to at least 13 states and four countries supporting multiple operations including Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Spartan Shield.
