Lieutenant Colonel ADAM J. HUNTINGTON

Lt. Col. Adam Huntington is the Commander of the 117th Air Refueling Squadron, Forbes Field, Topeka, Kansas. The 117th ARS is a combat-ready, Air Mobility Command-gained, 12 Primary Aircraft Assigned, KC-135 aerial refueling squadron. The 117th ARS maintains mission ready aircrew and support personnel, extending USAF core competencies of air and space superiority, global attack, rapid global mobility, precision engagement, and air and space superiority.

 

Lt. Col. Huntington commissioned into the active-duty Air Force May 2005 through ROTC from Arizona State University. He completed Undergraduate Pilot Training in January 2007 and held a variety of positions including Standardization & Evaluation Liaison Officer, Squadron Executive Officer, Formal Training Unit Instructor Pilot, Wing Training Flight Commander, C-40B Aircraft Commander, Executive Airlift Assistant Director of Operations, and Wing Chief of Readiness.

 

In 2017, Lt. Col. Huntington joined the Kansas Air National Guard and held positions as the 340 Expeditionary ARS Director of Operations, Wing Inspector General, and 117th ARS Director of Operations.

 

Lt. Col. Huntington has logged more than 4,000 hours as an instructor and evaluator pilot and deployed multiple times in support of Operations IRAQI FREEDOM, ENDURING FREEDOM, NEW DAWN, INHERENT RESOLVE, FREEDOM SENTINEL, and SPARTAN SHIELD.
